The Courting Candlestick was used by a young girl's father when her suitor came courting. When the candle burned down to the metal, courting time was over. If the father liked the fellow, he might set the candle on one of the higher rings, giving them a long visit in hopes this man might become his son-in-law. If he didn't, the candle would be set on a lower ring allowing just a short visit. Comes with a heart-shaped base. Would you have it any other way? We include a copy of the story. Candle sold separately.
