Grandmother's Fan Design
The Grandmother's Fan design appears to have originated during the latter years of the Victorian Era. It represents a number of wedged fabrics, placed together to form an arch, or if you will, a fan. Its flexibility as a design has lent itself to silks, satins, lace, and even bead embellishments in the Victorian period to employing scrap fabrics during the American Depression. Either way, the Grandmother's Fan design is definitely here to stay!
