Vol. 2, No. 4
I have a question for all you married people: where is your Wedding Day Guest Book? I’m not certain, but I think mine might be out in the garage. Even though my husband and I do look at our wedding photo album from time to time (usually on our anniversary), I don’t think we’ve ever once cracked that Guest Book since we returned from our honeymoon. I doubt we’re much different than most people.
Once upon a time, Denise from New York ordered a Picket Bench from us. She wanted it unfinished. It was for her daughter’s wedding, and she painted it a pearly-white and stenciled on her daughter’s and future son-in-law’s names with a decorative scroll. Then, on The Big Day, the wedding guests could sign the bench and convey their congratulations. Finally, they would seal coat the bench to protect it from any damage.
What an excellent idea - creating a piece of furniture to commemorate a huge milestone in one’s life. After fifteen years of wedded bliss later, I sure wish I had thought of that!
You might want to think of our Picket Bench as a means of remembering an important event in your life. What do you have coming up that should be commemorated? The birth of a child? A baptism? A Bar or Bat Mitzvah? Graduation? Retirement? (We once did a bench for a retiring military officer.) Our Picket Bench might be just the thing to capture that defining moment in time.
Picket and Picket Storage Benches are also an excellent means of celebrating holidays and the seasons, too. Because you can remove the back so easily, you can choose from a wide variety of bench back designs or even commission your own (please call us to discuss your custom order). Our craftsman’s artist is only too willing to help you achieve your vision!
Oh, and by the way….HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE TOGETHER, MEGAN & KEITH!
