We feature a number of items that can serve just fine as night stands, but this is the intended to do so. A counter measuring 22" x 16" will give you plenty of room for a lamp, telephone, alarm clock, box of tissues, whatever it is that you need.  Keep medicines and remote controls in the drawer.  The bottom shelf gives you ample space for telephone directories, flashlights, books and magazines.
